Kankakee County United Methodist Ministries is where we aim to provide updates and insights about our various ministries and community activities. Our blog serves as a resource for information, inspiration, and engagement with the United Methodist and wider community in Kankakee County.
Our goal is to foster a spirit of connection and collaboration in our community. We strive to share stories of faith, service, and the impact of our ministries, encouraging all to participate in the mission of love and service.
Our congregations foster and encourage faith to be expressed in many ways! We are diverse congregations from all walks of life and even from different places on the globe. Some congregations are in rural places, some are located in small towns, and yet others are in more urban settings. Our congregations encourage and welcome music from all musical traditions and other expressions of the arts. We encourage and welcome children and youth to be a part of the worship congregation and to become leaders of the worshipping community. All our congregations have a heart for service and mission -- here at home and around the world. Cooperation and partnerships with others is an important part of who we are. Whether it be hosting and or working to support the local food pantry, shared Vacation Bible School events, or hosting the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Sunday Gospel Concert, we strive to serve our communities and witness to God expansive and incredible love for us all.
